Draft Bylaws 2012
At the June 28, 2011 Pan Canadian Consortium on Admissions and Transfer (PCCAT) Business Meeting a motion was unanimously passed to accept the proposed PCCAT Structure and Mandate. That approval included a directive for the newly elected Executive to draft bylaws for approval at the next Annual General Meeting (AGM) in June of 2012.

SAVE THE DATE! 2012 Conference of the Pan-Canadian Consortium on Admissions and Transfer (PCCAT) - June 28 (all day) to June 29 (a.m.), 2012
This year's PCCAT conference is being offered in coordination with the Association of Registrars of the University and Colleges of Canada (ARUCC). ARUCC's biennial meeting will begin June 25th and will overlap with the PCCAT conference on June 28th, with both conferences being held in the same hotel in Ottawa.

Bonne et heureuse année à tous! Nous avons le plaisir de vous annoncer que le congrès annuel du CPCAT aura lieu cette année à l'hôtel Marriott au centre-ville d'Ottawa, en Ontario. Les dates retenues en 2012 sont le 28 juin toute la journée et le 29 juin en matinée. Le congrès aura pour thème « The State of Student Transfer and Mobility in Canada: Learning from Each Other » (État actuel des transferts et de la mobilité des étudiants au Canada : apprendre les uns des autres).
Cette année, le congrès du CPCAT a été coordonné avec celui de l'Association des registraires des universités et collèges du Canada (ARUCC). Le congrès biennal de l'ARUCC commencera le 25 juin et chevauchera celui du CPCAT le 28 juin, les deux rencontres ayant lieu dans le même hôtel à Ottawa. Nous espérons que cela rendra plus facile la participation aux deux congrès, si vous en décidiez ainsi.
L'appel de propositions pour le congrès du CPCAT et les détails sur l'inscription vous seront transmis sous peu.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS
In the spirit of collaboration, the Pan-Canadian Consortium on Admissions and Transfer (PCCAT) welcomes your active participation in sharing, exploring and celebrating your work and successes at the 2012 PCCAT Conference.
The focus for this year is The State of Student Transfer & Mobility in Canada: Learning from Each Other.
We invite you to submit presentation proposals that address the following:
You are invited to submit a short abstract/proposal (see template below) to share your work related to the above themes with colleagues attending the 2012 PCCAT/CPCAT Conference.
Deadline for submissions is Monday, April 2, 2012. Proposal authors will be notified by Tuesday, April 17, 2012 if their submission has been accepted. Members of the planning committee may contact authors to discuss possible grouping of sessions, depending on the submissions received.

This MOU demonstrates institutional commitment to maximizing learning experiences of students so they do not have to repeat post-secondary experiences. The Association of Atlantic Universities (AAU) and the Atlantic Provinces Community College Consortium (APCCC) and their member institutions have endorsed the MOU encouraging transfer agreements between and among public universities and community colleges in Atlantic Canada.
The MOU is a commitment to ensure students receive maximum benefits from post-secondary education. The MOU also recognizes that member institutions are responsible for overall evaluation and programming and will make these decisions based upon their institutional standards. The MOU further recognizes that academic integrity is paramount for all institutions and must be protected and preserved.

]]>The design of a postsecondary education system refers to the mix of institutions by mission, type, and major characteristics such as highest academic credential awarded; their relationships with one another; and the arrangements through which the system is governed. Although all systems of postsecondary education perform essentially the same functions, there are substantial differences across jurisdictions in the way that these functions are distributed among different types of postsecondary institutions. These differences in the configuration of institutions and the division of functions among them reflect different design choices.
